The museum ends where a Sefer Torah begins. In the Finale Hall, under the east clerestory, a sofer writes each man’s letter in a new Sefer Torah as his shaliach. Each woman takes on a mitzvah, recorded at the women’s station. Every visitor leaves with a letter.

The Letter and Commitment Registry records each letter written and each mitzvah taken on, and the Sefer HaZikaron records the communities and the people whose scrolls and stories the galleries hold. When the Osiyos Core plugin is active, the registry opens below; until then, write to us and we will record your letter by hand.

Why the letters

That is the museum in one line. The galleries hold the thousand years. The Churban Chamber holds the fire. And the Finale Hall holds what rose: a sofer writing, in a new Sefer Torah, a letter for every visitor who climbs the Rising Path.
